The same as most countries have recognized digital economic is able to drive economic upgrading and transformation, and further contribute the country’s competitiveness, Taiwan government also adopted the concept of digital economic as the core factors to formulate and promote policies, such as New Southbound and Industrial innovation.

Taiwan government promoted “Digital Nation & Innovative Economic Development Program (DIGI⁺)” in 2017, which is not only to continue the previous NICI program, but also to enhance digital infrastructure to support high-quality innovative ecosystems for development of digital economic, so that we can establish a fair and active internet society, advance highly value-added economic, and realize vision of a prosperous digital nation.

Following the purpose of setting up NICI Civil advisory committee, Taiwan government organized the DIGI⁺ Civil advisory committee, in order for both private sector and civil society to recommend policies on ICT and cross-sector applications, so that those government policies can get the most support from the public and reach consensus.
